OVER 100 WORKS OF ART AVAILABLE FOR SALE!!!

Bidding started at $50 per piece.

Another innovative project from Synergy Art Foundation, who distributed blank 10” x 10” canvases throughout the county, challenging local artists to create small format works using the theme “Beauty”.

The project, aptly entitled FROM BLANKS TO BEAUTY, resulted in gathering over 140 original and highly diverse works in varying media, from seasoned and emerging artists. All artworks were showcased at the Mosaic Wine Bar in a silent auction format on Thursday, November 17, from 6-10p.m.. Participating artists split the proceeds 50/50 and others donated all to Synergy’s EASL program, (Emergency Artists’ Support League) which offers limited emergency financial assistance to local visual arts professionals in desperate need because of a medical crisis, accident, fire or loss of personal and professional property. Those looking for a wonderful gift for someone special found a fantastic selection at the event. Opening bid for each piece started at $50. The Mosaic Wine Bar is located at 3422 30th. St.t, San Diego, 92014. A percentage of the bar’s proceeds that evening was donated to Synergy Art Foundation.

The Best Art Party of the Year!

With special thanks to Ian Ashley for coordinating the event and for all her tireless work on behalf of Synergy. Without her hard work, vision, and of course "The House of the Future", along with the gracious assistance of her husband Brian Judelson, this event and our four previous annual fundraising events would not have been the sucess they were.

Saturday, October 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at The House of the Future, 5481 Toyon Road, San Diego for an extraordinary evening of music, performance and art. Headlining our event was the amazing Rebecca Goodman with sculpture, site-specific installations and performance. Diverse live music by Tim Moran, Fish Circus, Orchestra Mustachio, Sven-Erik Seaholm and AntiQuark. Vintage 3D film by Brian Dick. Installations and artwork by The Ancient Gallery, Ovid Pope, Mary-Margaret Bouwman, Fernando Vossa, Patricia Rangel, Lester Corral, Adam Manley, Bill Watson, Zlatan, and emerging 'new genres' artists from Mesa College, Kim Garcia, and Kevin Kao. We also featured Cat, our dynamic firedancer, Lilly, stilt puppets, and Yona, one of San Diego's hottest DJ's.

A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO COLLECT HAITIAN ART

Synergy Art Foundation held a very special fundraiser for two specific artists' colonies in Haiti, which were completely wiped out. Proceeds went directly to the artists and these two arts organizations

Saturday | March 20th, 2010 | 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

At the Losina Art Center
3350 Sports Arena Blvd., Suite A, San Diego

Atis-Rezistans, which was located in the poorest neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, presented the world's first 'Ghetto Biennale' four weeks before the earthquake and won international notoriety for its success. All participating artists including children lost their homes and studios, and several master artists perished together with an untold number of artworks. See this VIDEO taken after the earthquake.

The Angels of Haiti Project, located in La Vallee de Jacmel on the southeastern area of Haiti, established and maintained a school for the most impoverished children for this region. Founded by Dr. Carolle Jean-Murat, a Haitian-born ob-gyn who has been helping women from all walks of life in San Diego since 1982. It started as a small arts program summer art program in 2001, that is now included in the schools curriculum and evolved to a yearly celebration called Journée des Enfants Pour la Paix (The Children’s Day for Peace) in which over 1,000 children are invited to participate in a day of art, including prizes, music, free breakfast, lunch and fresh water. Synergy Art Foundation is proudly featuring many of these magnificent, “naïve” children’s artworks very reasonably priced, the proceeds of which will be returned directly to this organization. Dr. Carolle will be our very special guest at the event and will talk about the importance of rebuilding the school.

Also for sale at the event will be artworks by several Haitian masters, including Laurenceau, Claude Dambreville, Prefete Duffaut, Louisiane St Fleurant and others, as well as many assorted and affordable Haitian objets d’art. Artful photographs capturing the essence of Haiti’s people and landscape (before the earthquake), by local photographer Bill Wechter, will also be for sale.

The event was free with a suggested donation of $10 which gives you two free raffle tickets.

Directions: Losina Art Center, 3350 Sports Arena Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA 92110, Phone: 619-630-9278 (Enter parking lot just after the Dixieline sign on right from Sports Arena Blvd; plenty of parking available in the front or around the back; enter gallery through the red door).

Mireille Des Rosiers and Michele Arnesen, our ambassadors from Haiti, were instrumental in the creation of this event.

Henri Jean-Louis, 54, painting in his destroyed neighborhood of Musseau, in Port-au-Prince. The painting shows a refugee camp emerging from a luscious green Haitian countryside. He explains, “I can no longer paint simple, decorative paintings. The world has to know about the sufferings, the apocalyptic Haiti. Generations must remember."
